  Children Given Blood Covertly.

  just recently, i've been in some business discussions with a paediatrician who works away in a large city hospital.

  we've got on pretty well, and, our business negotiations having come to an end, we sat down this morning to have a cup of coffee and a chat.. somehow or other, the subject of jw's came up.

  the paediatrician then told me that he/she had already had several encounters with jw's and was aware of the wt's stance on blood and their permitting of certain substances being used.

  Why Georgia

  I was told by our OBGYN 5 years ago that he would not let me bleed out on the table. If it came to that he would give me blood and deal with the lawsuits.

  This was when darling husband expressed his want for me to not have blood ever.

  On a side note....does anyone else notice how many JW's work in hospitals? My every move was reported by Mrs. Elder to Mr. Elder...and when they thought I might be given blood the Elders were sent out to make sure darling husband was good and strong and would let me die.

  I was never a JW....

  But I was concerned growing up constantly about nuclear wars...especially after I saw that God Awful movie " The Day After."

  And growing up in California knowing the missiles were just down the street!

  When you see a JW or two on the street, do you ignore them or speak tothem?

  most of the time i just walk on by.

  i just can't be bothered, and they are not going to believe what i say anyway.

  besides, should i tell them i am disfellowshipped, which may scare them away?

  I suppose it would depend on which ones I saw. If it was someone who had been unkind to me in the past I might ignore or embarrass them....depending on if I have PMS or not...just kidding.

  But if the person was nice and respectful to me than I would be nice to them and say hello then move along.

  Usually if they recognize me they do the whisper point thing....Sheesh! Grow up Dubs!

  Paradise; What's yours?

  here's something that i always wondered as a jw: with the virtually limitless tastes, hopes & desires, as well as cultures, families and backgrounds, did we all have the same idea of paradise in mind?

  it used to (bother?

  ) me that, perhaps the pictures of fruit & animals that i carried around in my service bag, were not paradise for everybody.

  I had a baby 9 months ago...

  My paradise would be a full night of sleep.

  But until that day...Paradise is the hugs and kisses I get from my 5 year old and the laughter I get from our 9 month old.

  i had to come here and post about this.

  my parents who have dutifully shunned me for nearly 9 years had the nerve to ask me for money.

  it wasn't for food, a car payment, house payment or anything like that.

  Maybe they thought that since they are Jehovahs special people ...he would soften your heart, mind, and bank account to realize their life's dream of an all expense paid trip to Bethel.

  Sorry for the sarcasm.

  this is the time of year for the "awards" shows.

  we have witnessed seen the people's choice awards, the golden globe awards, and the academy award nominations were announced today.

  i think it is time for the jwd awards.. every nominee is a winner.

  Reality to me is the first thing you see and hear when you wake up in the morning. If you go back to sleep and its still there when you wake up again....it must be reality.

  Speaking as a woman and someone who just had a baby a few months ago...

  I think you should continue to be loving and supportive. Even if your relationship doesn't work out you still have to find some way to deal with eachother for your childs sake.

  Also...being pregnant isn't all peaches and cream for every woman. I personally had a horrible time. It was painful on its best day and hell on its worst. I felt fat, ugly, ravenously hungry, and unloveable...ALOT!

  Then I had to also take into account my husbands feelings.....SHEEESH!!!

  Pregnancy is one of the hugest life changes a woman will ever go through. She may be dealing with issues like wondering if she will be a good mom or worrying about how to pay for diapers.

  Then there are the millions of ways JW's drop guilt bombs on you when your pregnant....believe me I know!

  Don't give up - be available, be adoring, and be loving.

  My husband married me a non-jw and was put on Reproof and he is not allowed to comment at meetings or go out in service.

  None of this really matters though at the moment since he is fading away.
